Airsoft

Airsoft is a sport in which round plastic BBs are shot out of replica guns with many different variations of game style. Airsoft has been around since 2000, and although it was relatively unpopular initially, the technology and safety is now at a point where everyone can safely play the sport. Many paintball players are choosing airsoft over paintball because of how much more affordable it is with the initial cost and long term use of the ammo, guns, and gun maintenance.

Why Airsoft?

Airsoft has many forms that really allow anyone to participate in the way they would most enjoy the sport. Variations in game play include small skirmishes, missions, operations, zombie hunts and just about any other variation that the imagination can create. Since the beginning of boyhood playing the game “guns” has been present where you chase each other around “tagging” one another with imaginary guns. Now for every one of all ages, airsoft can be the tangible way of playing guns. Though the sport focuses on many aspects not just the shooting of replicated guns; that today’s youth know well from such video game titles as Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Airsoft Good For Kids?

Today the sport promotes the idea of safety as well as the proper handling of guns. Many airsofters banding together to creating teams that play together to achieve a common goals. These Airsoft teams promote the youth to stay active and build character through the teamwork. Airsoft becomes much more than just a sport and this all helps build character in terms of commitment, dedication, confidence, trusting teammates, and developing strategies to help solve a problem. The video games should be a rainy day activity if you can go out and be active playing some airsoft.

More than a Sport

Airsoft has also been well known as a means of force on force training for law enforcement and military purposes. It can be used as both a medium to have great enjoyment for those looking to just play and have fun in a recreational manner. A competitive sport for the Milsim (Military Simulation) players and a very practical training tool for the people who protect and need the muscle memory of force on force combat.

Still Growing

Airsoft has a large number of uses and different levels of seriousness making it a limitless sport. Still very young it is being used in new ways to not only play recreationally but also to use airsoft as a tool to help prepare our protectors both overseas and here at home.
